A strong, aligned organizational culture is critical in order for any business to be successful, and it doesn’t happen by accident. It’s defined by the values and behaviors that are demonstrated through everyone’s actions, acting as the heart of the organization. While organizational cultures have been put to the test with the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, it’s important to look at the big picture in the present and plan accordingly for whatever changes may come in the future. As leaders, we must turn the lens inward and consider the lessons we have learned…

It’s no secret that young people aren’t clamoring for sales jobs. Google the subject and you’ll find article after article laying out the reasons why sales positions, despite the many constantly being advertised, aren’t being filled. Young people view the profession as manipulative or aggressive (think the “used car salesman” stereotype). They hate making cold calls. They fear working on commission. Colleges don’t encourage the career. And so forth.

In recent years, this bias against sales has caused many recruiters and hiring managers to try to revamp its image. To lure in young candidates, they may emphasize the “soft skills”…

OK, so maybe it has taken a while, but Amazon (AWS) is delivering exactly what developers, dev/ops teams and enterprise IT managers want now: namely Amazon EKS Anywhere. It’s a completely open source solution for creating and managing Kubernetes clusters on-premises.

Built for companies who want to run containers in their data centers, it provides the same management mechanisms that AWS provides in the cloud. Amazon EKS Anywhere is delivered as an installable software package for creating and operating Kubernetes clusters on premises and automation tooling for cluster lifecycle support. An EKS console can be leveraged to view all of…

Coverage around Box’s contested board of directors election (votes must be in by September 9, 2021) has been fairly one-sided until now. That could be because hedge fund Starboard Value hasn’t issued or marketed many, if any, press releases to technology publication editors. Or, maybe, because hedge fund managers, like Starboard, are perceived to be opportunistic, money-grubbing and evil, while leaders of enterprise software providers are regarded as rockstars. Box’s CFO Dylan Smith was even on Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker.

Owners and buyers of content services platforms find themselves in an interesting position in 2021. The quality, quantity, and nature of the vendors they can choose from has changed. Consider that the future of Box could soon be in the hands of hedge fund Starboard Value. And when it comes to Alfresco, Nuxeo and Hyland (OnBase), they seem unlikely to remain separate products and platforms over the long haul.

Say what?

In a recent interview with United Kingdom-based Document Manager Magazine, Tim Hood, VP EMEA and APAC at Hyland revealed that “in the longer term the strategic direction for Hyland…

We live in a world where equality, in numerous forms, continues to reside at the forefront of many people’s minds. From gender to race and everything in between, things have certainly improved, but there is still a very long way to go.

Today, there are a mere six female CEOs in the UK FTSE 100, with the average male CEO earning 17% more than the average female CEO. …

Content services provider Box has rearranged its investors website just enough to make SEC filings harder to find. That’s too bad because there are some interesting documents within it. Not only has Box suspiciously pre-announced earnings ahead of time, for the first time ever, but it has also come right out and claimed that Starboard Value a “distorts” the facts (more on this later.)

Starboard countered Box’s claims saying that:

“(Box) has resorted to “unfounded disparaging remarks in its latest attempt to maintain the status quo. We would note that when we have seen these kinds of desperate actions in…

When we consider which technologies have defined the human experience of the past decade or two, innovations such as the smartphone, social media, SaaS, and digital shopping platforms may be some of the most prominent ones that come to mind. Each of these technologies has left an indelible mark on the world and has — for better or worse — completely changed the ways that people interact with each other. Rarely would we consider technological innovations within patient-centered healthcare as “era-defining,” if ever.

That said, however, the healthcare industry’s inclusion of technology…

When Deep Analysis analyst Dan Lucarni reported on OpenText’s European user conference last Spring, he metaphorically described OpenText’s Cloud Content Services Suite as an aircraft carrier which, “when it is finally pointed in the right direction, can then unleash its unequaled firepower.” He estimated that it was “140–150 degrees into a 180-degree manoeuvre” at the time.

Last month OpenText announced its new cloud edition 21.3 positioning it, by analyst firm Forrester’s assessment, as a clear leader in Content Services, not only because of its dominance of the Global 1000 marketplace, but also because of its vertical industry expertise and offerings…
